Tent Card Design Templates for Indian Restaurants and Cafes

Five tent card layouts that consistently work for Indian restaurants and cafes — proven across dozens of similar businesses. Copy the template, plug in your content, change the colours to match your brand.
Template 1 — "Today's special"
Front: large hero photo of one dish + dish name in bold + price.
Back: short description (1–2 sentences) + "Available till 10 PM" + Instagram handle.
Example:
- Front: [hero photo] "Andhra Chicken Biryani — ₹329"
- Back: "Slow-cooked with 17 spices and Hyderabadi long-grain rice. Available daily till 10 PM. @restaurantname"
Template 2 — "Try our drinks"
Front: 3 drink options with photos in a vertical list, each with name + price.
Back: "Pair with..." suggestions linking drinks to food items.
Example:
- Front: "Filter Coffee ₹89 | Masala Chai ₹69 | Cold Coffee ₹149"
- Back: "Filter coffee with podi idli. Chai with our parathas. Cold coffee with our chocolate brownie."
Template 3 — "Follow us"
Front: large Instagram logo + handle + hashtag + "Tag us to get featured".
Back: 4 recent customer photos in a 2×2 grid with their tagged handles below.
Use case: cafes and restaurants where social-shareable food is part of the experience.
Template 4 — "How was your meal?"
Front: a feedback QR code linking to a 30-second Google review or in-house survey + a hand-drawn smiley + "Took 2 minutes? Tell us."
Back: "We're [restaurant name], a small family-run kitchen since 2018. Your honest feedback keeps us improving." + Owner's photo + signature.
Use case: restaurants that depend on Google reviews for foot traffic; works especially well in tourist-zone restaurants.
Template 5 — "Coming soon"
Front: announcement of a new menu item launch + date + photo (or a hand-drawn sketch if the photo isn't ready yet).
Back: "Stay updated: @restaurantname or +91-XXXXX." + small line about previous specials that worked well.
Use case: building anticipation for a new launch; tests appetite before final menu commitment.
Design rules that apply across all five
- One key colour from your brand palette + one accent colour + white. No more.
- Most important text (dish name, price, or call-to-action) takes up at least 30% of the visible side.
- Logo small, in a corner — the tent card is in your restaurant; people know where they are.
- Use real photos of your food taken with a phone in natural light; skip stock photos.
- Don't include the restaurant's address; the customer is already at your restaurant.
